PATH OF THE STAR HUNTER

Chapter 163

If Desmond had to name a way to end something, especially someone’s life, he would say that giving them a flower burial would be pretty beautiful, but what if they weren’t flowers? If they were clusters of fire so highly condensed that they vaguely took on the shape of a fiery rose; that would then be a beautiful way to bring destruction on someone.

Araszh had been a legendary necromancer from ancient times who had gone through countless battles, even in his twisted way of existing yet he was a being that inspired fear and respect; somehow it was fitting for a being like him to die a magnificent death.

A thousand roses made of so much fire mana that incinerated even the tiniest particle of dust near them now surrounded the powerful necromancer, filling the air around him leaving him without any escape.

The ancient entity known as Araszh did not even have the opportunity to resist, all its mortal miasma vaporized in the same instant that the fire roses surrounded it and without any regard, the same roses approached with dancing steps in the direction of the necromancer.

Nothing but ashes, that was what was left of Araszh, there were no screams of pain or struggle, the destructive power contained in Sasha’s ability was too much to be resisted; it was likely that even if Araszh had all the dark miasma that Desmond had forced him to waste, he would still be unable to fight this deadly but still beauty ability.

Of course, if Desmond hadn’t fought Araszh, Sasha would never have had the time to perform a skill like this, such a powerful move not only required ridiculously long casting time, it required tremendous concentration and absurd amounts of mana.

If one were to follow Sasha’s footsteps to see the place where she had been hiding in the time she was preparing this skill, they would see that there are several vials of mana potions lying on the ground.

But all that was in the past and now the solemn Sasha was running towards Desmond, as soon as the girl arrived in front of the young hunter she jumped on him hugging him so tightly that Desmond thought that he had again been caught by a capturing ability.

.....

With tears in her eyes, Sasha would not stop hugging Desmond as she told him how worried she had been for him and how happy she was that he was okay. Desmond hugged Sasha back giving her a gentle pat on the back at the same time that he had a helpless expression on his face.

′′ Sasha, calm down, I told you it would be fine and I am; but I’d like to have a couple of healing potions if that’s okay with you. ′′

Only now Sasha realized that Desmond still had to treat his injuries, she felt very ashamed and guilty for letting herself be carried away by her emotions; so she quickly opened the potions case and started pulling things out of it like crazy.

Desmond almost gave a little laugh at the hasty alchemist, but decided it would be rude so he just gave her a soft kiss on her forehead as he said: “I’m fine, just calm down; Do you want to help me with my wounds? ′′

After drinking a couple of healing and resistance potions, Sasha insisted that he should stop drinking potions for a while as he had abused them too much today, at the recommendations of his sexy personal doctor Desmond was quite obedient; at the end of the day, he was the most concerned about causing irreversible damage to his body.

Even so, Sasha helped Desmond apply a healing and anesthetic ointment to the part of his legs that was pierced, throughout the battle, it could be said that Desmond was only really beaten twice: once when a miasma whip hit him in the chest sending him to fly and the other when he had his legs impaled.

But the damage that he had done to himself with the abuse of Full-Drive and overload was almost at the level that he received from those attacks; Of course, to be fair it was surprising enough, not to say ridiculous, that Desmond was capable of defeating someone like Araszh who vastly surpassed him in strength and experience.

Although strictly speaking it was Sasha who destroyed the necromancer, but neither of them would care about that kind of difference, in Desmond’s case he was too pragmatic to care about it, and as a maiden in love, Sasha was too concerned about helping Desmond.

A couple of hours passed while Desmond and Sasha rested before the medications did their job, allowing Desmond to move freely again, both of them somehow curious ended up directing their gaze to the cave; After hesitating for a few moments, they both decided to explore the cave now that the necromancer was dead.

When they came down they saw that after the death of the necromancer the miasma had begun to disperse on its own, Sasha and Desmond did not find anything interesting on their way, but the end of the cave was a different story.

The ground was covered with all kinds of precious metals and minerals, some occasional gems made an appearance by showing their beautiful brilliance, they were just piles and piles of valuable materials scattered on the ground; some looked damaged by the barrel′s explosion, but those that were intact already numbered a considerable amount.

The find was extremely satisfying to Desmond because with everything found in the cave he would be able to finish his mission and charge a huge sum just for the leftover materials; the only problem that was on Desmond’s mind was that he did not understand why these materials were here.

According to Desmond’s little understanding of Araszh, the latter did not seem like the kind of creature who would care about worldly possessions. Someone who surrounds himself with corpses in a dark cave is not exactly a fellow who cares about luxury; in the same way, Araszh only wore a tattered black robe that completed his entire necromancer image.

When asking Sasha about it, the girl commented that among the corrupt beasts that they had killed there were a large number of magical beasts of a particular species, this beast usually lives in large herds that inhabit long and extensive chains of underground caves; these beasts’ favorite pastime is hoarding shiny metals and jewels.

′′ It is probable that this cave was originally their nest. ′′ Sasha exclaimed thus ending her explanation.

Seeing the vast riches in the cave Desmond had almost started to drool, unlike the dead necromancer, Desmond was someone who found money as a practical and convenient object that could make his and Sasha’s life better; in this case, these resources could potentially turn into many credits that would allow him to further increase his strength and thus allow him to have a more secure life.

As for Sasha? Well, Desmond didn’t know, but Sasha’s materials vault contained at least twice as many materials if not more. It was normal, although her teacher always preached that she should never abuse the gifts of nature; It was still inevitable that some precious materials would accumulate over the years.

Leaving aside the details, Desmond consulted with Sasha about what to do now and the girl told him that having dealt with Araszh she no longer had reasons to stay in this world so she only wanted to say goodbye to her home, and then she would follow Desmond from back to his world.

Desmond believed that Sasha might want privacy while packing her things in the cabin where she had spent her entire childhood accompanied by her beloved mother and teacher, so he suggested that Sasha leave first while he stayed to collect things in the cave.

Sasha was grateful for Desmond’s considerate attitude so after giving Desmond a quick peck kiss the girl ran off with her cheeks flushed.

Desmond watched her go from her and then shake his head slightly as he commented to himself:

′′ It seems that my time here is over, I spend a little more than a week this fast and now I bring a girl home. . . Claire is going to kill me, well she seemed to have changed her mind recently about her jealousy and she even told me to bring a girl home; but that was a joke. . . Hell, she’s seriously going to kill me. ′′
